Demand Peace and Justice in Darfur - "A New Sudan"
Recently, the killing in Darfur has slowed dramatically. But the Government of Sudan has the power to start it up again at any time. The only thing that can free the people of Darfur from this terrorifying threat is a peace agreement that gives them control over their fate. For years, Darfurians have been demanding justice - their rightful share of Sudan's political and economic resources.
They dream of a democratic, secular nation that respects all of its diverse religions, cultures and ethnicities, and rejects the toxic mix of racial and religious supremacy that drives the current regime. They call their vision a "New Sudan". Realising this goal would not only bring peace and justice to Darfur and give its people the security to start rebuilding their lives, it would also protect the other oppressed peoples in the South and East of Sudan and offer the prospect of lasting peace to a country ravaged by over 20 years of war.

SUCCESS!! - Humanitarian Intervention in Darfur
In October 2004, the African Union, supported by the UN, pledged to send peacekeepers to Darfur to monitor the ceasefire agreed in April 2004 and, to a limited extent, protect civilians. There are now over 5,000 peacekeepers on the ground, rising to 7,500 by October 2005. Although this humanitarian intervention has been too little to late for the hundreds of thousands of people who have been killed it is now providing limited protection for the people of Darfur and facilitating the delivery of aid. It was pressure like the 20,000 people who signed our petition that pushed the international community to intervene. Your speaking out helped save lives. Please ensure the world lives up to its pledge of "Never Again" in Darfur by signing our petition above calling for a "New Sudan".
Humanitarian Intervention
In Kosovo, NATO undertook a humanitarian intervention and even bombed Serbia after just 5000 civilians had been killed. Now we have a likely death toll of at least 370,000 in Darfur, and yet still the international community has not acted. An international force with strong European support and African participation could drive the Janjaweed off, protect the refugees, and allow aid to be delivered. It could save hundreds of thousands of lives. But it needs to happen immediately. It is possible that just the threat of such an action would convince the Sudanese government call off the Janjaweed and allow aid in.

SUCCESS!! - International Criminal Court to Prosecute Architects of Genocide in Darfur
After months of advocacy and tens of thousands of signatures on our Criminal Indictment petition (below) the UN Security Council voted to refer Darfur to the International Criminal Court on March 31st, 2005. Criminal Indictment
The genocide in Sudan was not inevitable. It was the intentional result of a plan crafted by individual human beings, including President el Bashir. Many of those architects of this genocide remain in power, still directing systematic massacres like the one in late January. These men must be held accountable, and only one institution can do that credibly and quickly – the International Criminal Court (ICC). An international indictment for genocide would force these men from the seat of power and forever brand them as some of history's worst criminals. Even the prospect of an ICC indictment may cause these genocidaires to change their policies. To ensure that genocide will never go unpunished, sign on now.
